The content in my files is not visible and non-interactive

Question

Every file I try to open has the same issue: the working area is gray and I cannot interact with it. However, the menu works, I see all options and layers. Still, I can’t do anything with them. How can I fix this?

To start with a few quick checks, could you confirm the following:

Does the issue happen in both the browser and the desktop app?
Does the file load correctly in a different browser? (We support Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge)
Have you tried force-quitting and reopening Figma to see if that helps? (Browser and/or desktop app)
If you select a frame in the Layers panel and press Shift + 2 (Zoom to selection), does it focus correctly on the selected frame?

Let me know if any of these help! If not, I’d recommend reaching out to our support team by submitting a bug report.
In the form, please:

Use your Figma email address
Mention the steps you've already tried
Include the file URL and grant “can edit” access to support-share@figma.com on this file so the team can take a closer look and try to replicate it.

Hello, and thank you so much for your help! One of the suggestions - opening a file in a different browser worked.

However, my desktop app doesn't open at all (I downloaded it today to fix the issue mentioned above). Here’s a screenshot attached to showcase what happens.

The app opens the same way every time, and when I drag the file into Applications, the app just re-installs again, with no actual progress.
