Text from variables disappearing from instances with latest Figma update?

I am running into a bug only in the past 2 hours. Any instance of a component with variants that has text from a variable now won’t show the text.

Is anyone else seeing this problem? I can re create this with a very simple 1 text component.

Could be a rendering issue. So, could you try “Regenerate all instances” via Actions? 

If this doesn’t help, please try the troubleshooting below: 

  • Close any Figma tabs you're not using
  • Browser: Force-quit and open Figma in a new browser window.
  • Desktop App: Force-quit the Figma Desktop app and restart it. If the issue persists, try clearing the cache.

If the issue still continues, could you submit a bug report detailing the steps that led to this issue? You can do so by following the link: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041468234-Submit-a-bug-report

Same here! It seems like a recent issue. Have you checked if there's a temporary workaround or if it's been reported on the official forums?

Hi Toku, I tried all of the above and still no luck.

The only thing that seems to work for my case was to create individual components for each button, instead of using instances… which kind of defeats the entire purpose of setting up components in the first place. 

 

I will submit a bug report in the meantime
