We are an English language school. We use Figma for classes with students. Each board is used by a teacher and one or more students.
If we want to use the paid version of Figma (Professional or Organization), do we have to pay for each seat only for our teachers (i.e., our employees) or also for students?

To clarify — Figma plans are tied to teams, not individual users.
This means that anyone who needs edit access to files in a paid team must be assigned a paid seat within that team. This includes both teachers and students if they’re editing files together.

That said, your school may qualify for the Education plan, which provides access to Professional plan features for free (please note that Figma AI and some other features are not included).
All users with edit access in an Education team will need to verify their education status.
