I accidentally switched my starter plan to education. How can I switch it back? And will my files be affected by that?

Hey @Nazrin Salimzada - essentially, Education plans are the same thing as Professional plans. The only difference is that you were verified as a qualified student or educator, so you get access Professional plan features at no cost for the next 2 years. After 2 years, you will need to re-verify your student status. If you no longer qualify (like you graduate, for example), then you automatically return back to a starter plan.

Moving to a student plan from a starter plan should not affect your files in a negative way -- you will actually find that you have more capabilities than you would if you were still in a starter plan.

However, there will be some features that revert back when you downgrade from a student plan back to starter. For example, you will only be to have the last 30 days of version history available instead of entire file history.

This may have been a bit confusing, so let me know if I can clarify further.

With that, would you still like to revert back to a starter plan? If so, I’ll get you some help to do that.

If you also don’t mind me asking, is there a particular reason why you’d like to go back to starter? Are you concerned that your files will get corrupted somehow, or that you will lose access to them?

In education plan I can’t use figma make, it says education plan doesn’t support it.

Ah, got it - that is correct.

Right now, Figma Make isn’t available on EDU Pro accounts, and we are not able to make exceptions. That said, we know how important educators and students are to the Figma community, and this may change in the coming months.

Outside of Figma Make, you can still access other benefits of being on a Professional plan. Would you still like to cancel?

No, thank you for your help

No problem! I’ll close this topic now, but if you have any additional questions, feel free to open a new one :D
