Subtle active states are a pain

Hi, I design fairly quickly on a 24-inch monitor.

The active state for the chain icon is not prominent enough for me to spot it with the corner of my eye.

I often end up messing up the proportions of my layers before taking a second look and realizing the chain icon was off.
