Shift → Arrows no longer work to nudge such as moving x,y coordinates and other things. What is the fix?

Hey @Cjbean, sorry to hear you’re having trouble using shift + arrows to nudge!

We just tried to use nudge in the desktop app and the browser, and it’s still working as expected on our end.

Is this happening both in browser and using the desktop app for you? What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

  • Restarting your computer
  • Logging out and back in
  • Clearing your browser/desktop app’s cache
  • Un-installing and re-installing the desktop app

Hi there, I’ve tried the above steps and this is in the cloud Figma. It is only on one system , and within one chrome browser environment as a logged in user from my work’s profile. No other team members are having the problem. It does work on another chrome browser environment (i.e. logged into Figma as a different user ) . So even though cache is cleared it is still misbehaving. Any other steps that you recommend would be helpful. Thank you.

Thanks for the additional info, @Cjbean!

When using Figma in the affected Chrome browser on your work profile, are you able to see your Nudge settings when using the Quick action: Nudge amount?

To access the quick actions bar, use the keyboard shortcut: Mac: ⌘ Command / or ⌘ Command P
Windows: Control + / or Control + P

Your Nudge amounts should then pop up like this:

Thanks, I see that it is set to 10. So it has been set but is not functioning properly. Again this is browser based Figma only.

You’re welcome! Good to know that you do have set Nudge amounts. It sounds like this may be an issue with your keyboard then.

What operating system are you using? Have you checked if your keyboard driver needs to be updated?

It is not because remember on the same computer, with a different chrome profile open and a different Figma profile logged in, it works.
