Screen went black with blue font/outlines while editing

I can’t figure out how to restore the frame

It sounds like you might have toggled Outline on by accident.

Please try the following:
Main menu › View › Outlines › Show outlines.
Mac: Cmd+Y.
Windows: Ctrl+Shift+3.
Both: Shift+O.
