Prototype node connection not working at all

so here’s what I’ve done
1.witch design panel to prototype panel
2.click any frame
3.click on little cross icon inside circle that appears on the side or tip or bottom of the frame

I think there’s suppose to be a node appearing but it’s not appearing
someone help
