Hi everyone,

I need a quick confirmation regarding Figma's pricing for a team setup.

As I understand it, we'll have 1 Admin/Owner account that manages the workspace, and 10 team members who will collaborate within that team.

My questions are:

  • Is the pricing charged per seat (Admin + each team member), or is there a different licensing model?
  • If we have 1 Admin + 10 Editors, will we be paying for 11 paid seats, or is there any way to optimize the cost?
  • Are there any limitations or recommendations for a team of this size?

I just want to make sure I fully understand the licensing before proceeding.

    Hey ​@pmonlinedesignstore 👋 Which plan are you considering? Professional or Organization, for example? That will help me give you a targeted reply.

    Pricing: Figma is priced per seat (Plans & Pricing). There are three paid seat types — Full (design + Dev Mode + FigJam), Dev, and Collab — plus free View seats, and you only pay for the seat type each person actually needs (seat types explained).

    For your setup: if all 10 team members need to design (edit files), that's 10 paid Full seats. Your Admin/Owner only needs a paid seat if they're also designing otherwise they can be a free View seat and cost nothing (managing seats)

    Cost optimization tips:

    • Anyone who only needs to view/comment (not edit) can use a free View seat — no charge
    • If some members only need FigJam/Slides + basic Dev Mode inspection, a Collab seat is much cheaper than a Full seat 
    • Mixing seat types (e.g., a few Full + a few Collab) is fully supported and billed separately (billing guide)

    For a team of ~11 people, Professional covers you well (unlimited files/folders, team libraries). Organization is a good fit if you require centralized admin across multiple teams or advanced security — maybe overkill unless you have specific compliance needs.
