Preserving Content Structure When Redesigning A Live Website in Figma

Hi everyone!

I’m redesigning an existing live website (https://buscadordeestatuss.mx/) and trying to decide the most efficient way to bring the current UI into Figma as a baseline for iteration, not as a final or perfect replica.

From your experience:

Do website-to-Figma import tools provide enough structural and content fidelity to be useful for redesign work?

Where do these tools usually fall apart (text hierarchy, spacing, reusable patterns, responsiveness)?

For a content-heavy, SEO-driven site, is importing and refactoring faster than rebuilding from screenshots with Auto Layout and components?

I’m mainly looking to preserve content structure and intent, while improving clarity, hierarchy, and maintainability in Figma.

Would love to hear what’s worked (or failed) for you in similar projects. Thanks!
