Hi!

A previous team member was the owner of the Figma file and was receiving email notifications from Figma normally (view request from external people). Before he left the company, I assigned myself the owner of the file.

I was expecting to receive the notification emails of view requests since I got the ownership of the file. But nothing happened.

My problem is: with the recent Figma upgrade, the view request panel in Figma doesn’t show the emails of the people who want to view the file (before the upgrade it did). I need that information for security reasons (that could be solved with the email notification).

I already tried to adjust Figma preferences in order to receive the email notifications, but it didn’t help.

Any clues?

Thanks!

Hi @ricardo.hippert ,

I understand you’re having trouble approving file requests because you’re not receiving email notifications and you’re also not seeing the requester’s email address in the share modal, even though you’re the owner of the file.

I tested this on my side and was able to receive the email notifications, and the share modal did show the requester’s email address as described in this article: Request to edit a file

That said, we’ve received a few similar reports, so I’ve already checked in with our internal team about this. I’ll be sure to post an update here once I learn more.

Thanks,

Great, thanks!

Hi @ricardo.hippert

After checking internally, I can confirm that this is the expected behavior.

That said, I’ve already shared your feedback with our team for consideration. While I can’t promise any immediate changes, our team has acknowledged that seeing the requester’s email address can be important for decision-making in some workflows.

In the meantime, if you’d like to know those requesters details for a specific file you own, please feel free to PM me the file URL(s). I’ll be happy to help connect you with our Support team.

Thanks,

Hi @Junko3 , great. I will send you the URL.

Thanks a lot!
