hi all!!

My videos autoplay on desktop/web perfectly but not on mobile devices ( none of them- android, ipads, mobiles- iphones, androids). It appears as static image.

Anyone came across it?

I just coded up a prototype to test an instagram ad, I am floored I cannot user test it on a mobile app with video, completely floored how this can be released this way! If anyone has a workaround, please reach out!

Our team is currently investigating a known issue with video playback on iPhone. At this time, we do not have an estimated timeline for a resolution.


However, as you’re mentioning you’re experiencing this on android devices too, could you give me more information on the following?


App version


Device model


Android version


To help us take a closer look, are you able to share a file link with us and add support-share@figma.com as an Editor to the file with the video that won’t play (this won’t affect your billing at all)? Also, please feel free to DM me the file link if you don’t want to share if publicly in the Forum.


As a workaround you may want to access www.figma.com/mirror from the mobile browser. Please let me know if that works for you.

Is this happening in Iphone devices? If so you may be encountering a known issue with video playback on iPhone that our team is currently investigating.


Could you give us the following details?



  • App version

  • Device model

  • IOS/Andriod version
