Hi @Lexi Rohrer, thank you for reaching out—it does sound very frustrating, especially when it’s affecting your usability tests. Let’s go through some potential steps to troubleshoot:
Can you confirm if the users who don’t use a Mac are meeting the minimum system and browser requirements?
Minimum browser requirements
- Chrome 99 or later
- Firefox 101 or later
- Safari 16 or later
- Microsoft Edge 121 or later
Minimum operating system requirements
- Windows 8.1 or later
- macOS 11 or later
- Any Linux OS that supports the browsers listed above
- Any Chrome OS that supports the browsers listed above
For more detailed information, you can also refer to our guides:
Additionally, please check if the users are connected to the internet through a VPN/Proxy/Firewall and do they have any antivirus software running on their device? If they do have an antivirus software running, please check that the virus definitions are updated to the latest version. If they’re connected via a firewall, we suggest making sure that Port 443 is unblocked and that www.figma.com is unblocked as described in: Technical troubleshooting tips.
It may also help to see if they can open this file without encountering this issue if they connect to another network (e.g. mobile hotspot) and without VPN.
Lastly, do you they any browser plugins installed, given that they noted it seems to be working in Incognito mode. They may have some settings or browser extensions which might be blocking specific requests to open the URL. We would suggest disabling each extension and checking to see if that helps improve anything.
I hope this helps resolve the problem. Please let me know how it goes, thank you!
Hi Gayani, thanks for the help!
On the test devices where the prototype isn’t working, I’m running Windows 11, Microsoft Edge 132, or Chrome 132. I’ve tried incognito windows in both, and it’s not working there. My windows virtual machine doesn’t have any VPN/Proxy/Firewall, or antivirus software running, and my windows browsers don’t have any extensions - on my mac browsers that do have extensions, it seems to work fine.
Unfortunately, none of these solutions worked. Are you able to load the link I initially posted on a PC? I’m trying to diagnose if this is a problem with the file (although I’ve tried a few different files on a few different devices, and none seem to work). My users and I are located in Bangkok, Thailand, if that makes a difference. Let me know what you think!
Hello. The same issue is occurring where prototype interactions are not working on the Windows operating system. It needs to be checked whether this is a development bug.
It worked when you ran it with the latest specs! kkkk Thanks!
