In the desktop version of Figma, ALL the images have disappeared from ALL my projects. The frames are still there, but they are empty. However, everything is working fine in the browser version. I've tried restarting, uninstalling, and reinstalling Figma, but nothing has worked. Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

That’s a frustrating issue. Here are a few things you can try + possible causes (based on similar reports):

  • Make sure your internet connection is stable — weak or flaky connections can prevent images from loading properly.

  • Disable any browser extensions (especially ad‑blockers or privacy tools); they can block image loads in Figma preview.

  • Clear your Figma cache (browser or desktop app) — corrupted image cache is a frequent culprit.

  • Check if the images were originally linked rather than embedded — if so, the link might be broken.

  • Try flattening the image layer in Figma — in some cases that forces the preview to render it correctly.

If none of that works, I’d recommend submitting a bug report to Figma support — include a link to the file, share the file with the support team, and give them “can edit” access so they can investigate.
