Multi level alias reference in Variables

Hey all,
We’ve been working on a multi-brand design system and we want to introduce variables on our team setup.
I’m having trouble referencing other tokens on the same Mode.

So in the example below, I have the mode and want to introduce a color token color.test that references another token on that mode color.brand.text.default.

But then the tokens don’t reflect the color value of the column where they are placed.
Is there a way to solve this?
