Hi Figma Team,

I'm using a Professional plan and I'm logged in, but when I generate a design using Figma Make (AI), I don’t see the "Open in Design" or "Continue in Design" button after the layout is generated.

All I can do is view the generated frame, regenerate, or refine it – but there’s no option to transfer it into a design file. I’ve tried refreshing, using different browsers, and checking my workspace, but the button is still missing.

Is this feature not yet available on my account or in my region?
How can I transfer AI-generated layouts from Figma Make into a design file for editing?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Magda

Hi @Magdalena_Marcula, thanks for reaching out!

Currently, it is not possible to transfer Figma Make files into Figma Design. These are two complete different files types for two different products.

While you can attach designs to your Figma Make prompts, the transfer from Make to Design will not work. Please see our Figma Make FAQs for more information.

Please note than you can continue to iterate on your prototype directly within Figma Make using the conversation feature and the edit tool. You can make adjustments to padding, margins, colors, and text properties using the Edit tool, or continue the conversation in the AI chat to refine your prototype. Please see our Explore Figma Make guide for more details.
