Master Component doesn't publish when moving into another file

Hi there,

I’m moving master components from one file into another. Usually I would get a notification if I want to move or publish a copy of the component.

For some specific components this message is missing. Also when I try to manually push a library update those components won’t show up in the list.

When I go to the corresponding instance → right click → go to master component Figma send me back to the original file with an error message and option to restore the master component.

What do I do wrong? It’s only this specific component that’s causing trouble

Hello @Manuel5, Thank you for reaching out about the issue with moving published components. I understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t work as expected.

As our first step to troubleshoot this, could you please confirm if you are cutting and pasting the component when moving published components? Copying and pasting may trigger the message to restore the component.
You can check more details from this help center article, it also includes step-by-step instructions: Move published components

Additionally, please check if the components and any nested instances within them are hidden. If the main components of nested instances are hidden, they need to be published first.
You can find the details for publishing the hidden components here: Publish individual styles, components, or variables

I hope this information is helpful. If I missed anything, please let us know.
Also, If any other community members have insights or suggestions, please feel free to share here!

Thanks,
