Lost Access to Figma Account Linked to Deactivated School Email

Hi, I need help recovering access to my Figma files. My Figma account was linked to my university email (example@university.edu), which has been deactivated after graduation without notice. I can no longer log in, and all my design files (3+ years of work) are stuck there.

I have a personal Figma account (example@gmail.com) and would love to transfer the files there if possible. The university confirmed they cannot restore the email.

Is there any way Figma support can help me regain access or move the files?

Hello, I am facing the same issue. I was on a student plan but i graduated so they deactivated my email. I need to retrieve those files as those files were really important. Is it possible to do that? I have lost all my academic work. I did backup by adding my personal email to those projects but still can't see them. The university email ID is [redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII] and my personal email is [redacted by forum admin/moderator to remove PII]

Hey, I’ve run into something similar before. Your best bet is to contact Figma Support directly and explain that your school email has been deactivated and you need access to your files. Include the email address linked to the account and any proof that the files are yours. They’ve been able to help people migrate files to a personal account in situations like this.
