Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a very strange issue with my Figma account and I'm hoping someone has seen this before.
I've been using the same personal account for a long time (Google account + email/password login, both using the exact same email address).
Today I logged in and noticed that:
- Almost all of my files are gone.
- My Drafts are empty.
- My profile picture has reverted to the default initial instead of the custom image I've always had.
- My account settings (email, name) are still correct.
- Logging in with Google or with email/password makes no difference.
- I also have another Figma account for a different project (Alkyma), and I used to switch between them without any issues.
The confusing part is that I still have several of the missing files open in the Figma desktop app because I hadn't closed them.
For example, one file is:https://www.figma.com/design/GDGPWbJtUODsyKof01dHcE/artfolio-mockup?...
Inside the file:
- I appear as the owner ("patos : design").
- The file is still associated with its project.
- I can edit it because it was already open.
However, if I go to my Home page, Drafts, Recents, or Projects, those files simply don't exist anymore.
It's as if my account is pointing to a completely different workspace, even though:
- it's the same email,
- the same login,
- and Figma still recognizes me as the owner inside the open file.
Has anyone experienced this?
Could this be:
- an account migration issue,
- a corrupted workspace,
- a problem caused by signing in with Google vs password,
- or some kind of synchronization bug?
I'm worried that if I close the open tabs I'll lose access to years of work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
