Since last week, I’ve encountered an issue with moving objects that contain nested elements (children) within Figma. Previously, objects could be moved seamlessly with expected behavior like snapping to grids or aligning with other objects. However, the current experience is problematic in several ways:

  1. Objects Not Snapping: When attempting to drag grouped objects to new locations, they no longer snap to the grid or align with other objects as they used to.

  2. Nested Elements Misbehaving: While moving the parent object, the nested elements inside the group exhibit erratic movement, specifically moving up and down unpredictably.

  3. Issue Persists with Keyboard Navigation: Even when using arrow keys to nudge the objects, the same unpredictable behavior occurs, with children elements shifting position within the group.

@Sara_Barrera_Riano heya - would you mind posting a screen recording of how the objects behave when you drag + drop? I want to get a better visual.

If you’re able to record something to share, please try and make sure the whole Figma is showing (all layers, panels, menus, etc.)

Thank you!

I recorded my screen, but I can’t share because I am “new”

@Sara_Barrera_Riano See if you can post it now – if not, feel free to PM me the recordinf 😊
