My Figma updated from the old Edit Content panel to the new Bulk Edit view. When opening Bulk Edit, every single layer appears, whether it’s editable or not. The non-editable fields can’t be interacted with, while the editable ones can.
Right now, I have to horizontally scroll through all fields just to find the editable ones.
I know you can manually filter and unselect fields in Bulk Edit, but is there a way to configure this at the master template level so those settings apply to anyone who uses the file in the future?

Looking at the Help Center article for Bulk Edits in Figma Buzz, I don't see an option for template-level changes. Currently, the main workaround is the column-based option you mentioned. As noted in the article: “To give yourself more room to work, you can hide columns you don't need—click Settings to toggle individual columns on or off.”

Chill, so if we’re creating this for a different team, I have to ask them to hide the columns so they can use the template? Did I get that right? This is a user problem?
Yes, you read that right, and it's a fair thing to push back on. Thank you for saying it plainly.
Today, hiding columns in Bulk Edit is a per-person view setting. It isn't saved into the template, so it doesn't travel to the team you're handing the file off to. That's a real gap for exactly the workflow you're describing, and not something we'd want to put on your end users.
Two things that may help in the meantime:
Lock the layers that shouldn't change in the template. It won't hide the columns, but it greys them out so your team can't edit them by accident. The editable cells are the only live ones.
Audit your layer structure. Bulk Edit builds column names from layer hierarchy, so if two assets have identical copy but one has it nested inside a group and the other doesn't, Buzz reads them as different fields and splits them into separate columns. Tightening that up can cut the real column count meaningfully.
Curious how big this is for you. Roughly how many columns are you scrolling past, and is it one template or a whole suite you're rolling out? We can pass your feedback onto the Buzz team as feedback on template-level field visibility.
