Is there a way to drop images on the canvas outside of frames within Slides like you can in Figma Design?

This is a feature that holds our creative agency team back from fully integrating Slides into our workflow. Designers need the option to drop reference imagery around slides outside of the presentation, but at the moment these images will move around and behave oddly.
