This seems like a very basic question, but I wasn’t able to find an answer or a solution: when I’m inserting/adding a component from my assets, what’s the best way to make sure it goes directly in to the correct folder in my layers? Currently an inserted component always goes at the TOP of the layers - and then I need to scroll and drag it to where I want it.

I understand you're looking for a way to control where your inserted components land in the Layers panel, instead of them always jumping to the top.

 

Could you try inserting assets using the Actions menu in the toolbar? Here's how:

  1. Select the layer where you want to insert your component.
  2. Click “Actions” icon in the toolbar, then open the “Asset” tab.
  3. Select the component you want to insert, then click “Insert”.
