Images not showing up

For the past few months I’ve been able to see my images on my file but for the past few days all the previews have disappeared & I’ve tried to update Figma, update my computer, clear my Figma cache and nothing has worked. The images are still within the Figma but I just can’t view them

Hey @Celine_ , I hope you're doing well.

Unfortunately, the issue has returned — my images have gone hidden again, and it's really affecting my work. I'm quite stressed as I rely heavily on Figma for my projects, and this interruption is causing delays.

Could you please help me once more, or guide me on the next steps to resolve this permanently?

Thank you so much for your continued support!

Best regards,
Muhammad Waqar

Hi @Muhammad_Waqar, I’m sorry to hear the issue has returned, especially with how much it’s impacting your work. I completely understand how stressful that must be!
I’d recommend to reply to your existing support ticket with any recent screenshots or steps that seem to trigger the issue (your case will be re-opened automatically). That’ll help our support team to investigate more effectively.
If you can’t find your previous support ticket, feel free to submit a bug report.

Thanks again for your patience 🙏🏼

Hey Sanchit, apologies for the delay in my response, I was away.

Sorry to hear you're also running into issues. Since the suggested steps haven’t resolved it, the best next step would be to have our technical quality team take a closer look at your file.

You can submit a bug report directly here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. That way, the team can investigate further, and advise you for the next steps, thank you!

  1. Open Terminal.app and enter the following command: rm -rf "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma"”

So everyone is aware, this will also delete preferences and sign you out of your account!!! We should have been warned. This is bad advice.

Annoying but what worked for me was clicking on the image in the fill one-by-one to reload any of the problematic ones.

01/27/2026 | Desktop App

Same issue here.

Walked away from the computer for ten minutes leaving it on only to return with none of the images made in Figma, in design mode, showing.

Hovering over the tab however, shows the pop-up image next to the tab with all of the images fully displayed.

All of the other tabs show work per normal; just this tab I was on shows nothing.

Please don’t suggest me checking the opacity or anything else completely obvious to an experienced user of more design software than just Figma.

Hey @brianchaffee , thanks for flagging this! That definitely doesn’t look expected, especially if the images still appear in the tab preview but not in Design mode.

Since this only affects one file and happened after the app was idle, this could be a desktop app rendering issue, rather than anything like layer settings.

A few quick things you can try:

  • Close just that file tab and reopen it from the file browser

  • Duplicate the file and open the copy

  • Restart the Figma desktop app

If it is still blank after that, the best next step is for our support team to look at the file directly:

  • Grant view access to the impacted file by sharing it with support-share@figma.com.

  • To submit a bug report:  Go to the Support Hub / Click Start a chat / Type “Report a bug” / Include a direct URL to the file

That’ll allow the team to investigate further and loop in Engineering if needed (this will not impact your billing), thank you!

Celine,

Thanks for the reply.

Machine restart seems to have solved the issue.
