I made access to edit mode to my colleague who does not Pro Plan, will it charge me?

I’m using my company account with Pro Plan (annually paid) and I click on share button to give access to my colleague using edit mode (same surname email like mine, but not exactly the same account). I did not know it mean changing to full seat (none clicked approve on email to change them to full seats). But I found out that it could charge or change them to full seat, I changed access to view only. I double-checked on admin page to see seat management or billing. It shows next invoice will be USD 0.00 and only my account is full seated. I’m still scared. Will it charge me?

Hey @Chutikarn Kahawong, thanks for reaching out!

Since your admin shows only one Full seat is a strong sign you haven't been charged. But there's an important nuance worth understanding.

How seat upgrades actually work:

Figma has three seat approval settings, and the default on the Professional plan is "Manually approve, unless seat is available."

  • Manually approve seats — all seat upgrade requests must be manually approved by an admin, no exceptions.
  • Manually approve, unless seat is available (default) — people who request a paid seat are automatically granted one if a pre-purchased but unassigned seat already exists on your plan.
  • Auto-approve seats — all seat upgrade requests are automatically granted, and if no seats are available, a new one will be purchased.

So yes, a seat upgrade can happen without you manually clicking approve, depending on your settings and whether you had an unassigned Full seat available.

If a seat request was auto-approved using an already-available seat, there would be no additional cost, the seat is simply reassigned, and no new charge is created. A charge would only apply if a brand new seat had to be added to your subscription.
