Hyperlink not created with Cmd+V, URLs lost

I’ve been using Cmd+V to paste URL to highlighted text, thinking it creates a hyperlink. It is one of the methods listed in a Figma Learn article regarding link creation, under “Use paste in place”. When I do this, the highlighted text gets underlined, which looks exactly like actual hyperlinks. 

However, today I realised they don’t behave like one. Instead, they are just regular underlined text.

Is there a way to retrieve all the URLs I’ve pasted into these text? I’ve linked many resources this way and I hope they haven’t been lost.
