How to remove cookie banner from embedded prototypes?
Hey all, wondering how to solve this issue.
We created prototypes to embed in our dev docs site, so there are multiple prototypes on a page and different pages. Every prototype has this cookie banner (highlighted in pink), even when I’ve already accepted it once. How can we remove this? Can it be shown only once?
Thank you!
Denise

I’m also getting reappearing cookie banners every single time Figma embeds load, especially when embedding them into desktop apps like Notion or Pitch.
MacBook Air Apple M1, macOS 14.4 (23E214)
Thanks for sharing the details! I passed the information onto our internal team. Unfortunately, there isn’t a quick solution at the moment. We will let you know once we have any updates.
Thanks,
Toku
I just wanted to follow up on this thread as I’m still experiencing the same issue. The cookie consent banner continues to appear in my prototypes.
@y_toku Could you please provide an update on this matter? Has there been any progress in finding a solution to remove or disable the cookie consent banner in Figma prototypes? Many users, including myself, would greatly appreciate any insights or workarounds you can offer.
Hi all, I actually stopped seeing the banner for a while but now it’s back. Would love some updates on when / how this issue can be fixed. If you would like a walkthrough on the site where this is happening so you can see the issue in action, happy to do that.
Thank you!
Same here
When im logged in there is no cookie banner, when logged out cookie banner is back and comes back after every refresh of the page where the view is embedded in, even when clicked on allow.
users of the my website allows get the banner on the embedded element. ( no accounts )
tried edge and chrome brouwser, both with same outcome.
tried on private workspace and company workspace, both with same outcome.
Maybe if you try to reproduce, try loggin out of your account, maybe that might give you the option to reproduce it.
Mike
users of the my website allways get the banner on the embedded element.
sorry typo
Hi there,
Thanks for flagging. If you keep seeing the banner, could you submit a bug report along this article?
We’re still struggling to replicate this issue on our end.
Thanks for your understanding!
Toku
Hi @y_toku would like to arrange a call where the bug can be demonstrated or provide a location/email address where a recording of the behaviour can be sent to?
I think it’s clear from the amount of people experiencing the described behaviour that it does exist and is a bug. Unless of course you confirm that the behaviour is by design.
This thread seems to be going in circles and I think there has been a lot of information provided to accurately detail the steps and conditions to re-produce.
I think we all want the same outcome so I’m happy to demonstrate the behaviour to you or the development team.
Let me know how we can progress this proactively.
Thanks,
Dan
Just submitted a bug report with a screen capture of getting the banner again and again after dismissing from various things like refreshing, navigating away, updating the prototype etc. Would really like to see this fixed.
Thank you!
I’m also consistently getting this issue with my embedws prototypes into Notion and Webflow.
Any movement on this solution for not having this Cookie Banner present itself when the prototype is being shared? We might be forged to look at alternative solutions for creating prototypes if this is going to be a permanent item that gets displayed.
How is it possible that this bug still exists after so much time has passed? It’s very disturbing and has effectively destroyed my entire vision for a case study I created. As a result, after I published it on Behance, it was a total failure because of this bug. I am disappointed that this bug still exists after all this time!
Hi all,
Thanks for flagging. We’re still having trouble replicating this issue on our end. As mentioned before, could you please submit a bug report? In your report, include the following details if possible:
The countries/regions you’re accessing Figma from. The cookie banner is displayed based on the user’s location, so knowing this information will help us replicate the issue.
A screen recording of the issue occurring.
You can find more details here:
We really appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Toku
I have the same issue but not on every device. It seems once you have logged in to Figma, no banner shows up (in sharepoint) but when never being logged in (on that device) the banner shows up and “allow cookies” is not being saved.
Thanks for the additional information. Could you help us investigate further with the following details?
The countries/regions you’re accessing Figma from. The cookie banner is displayed based on the user’s location, so this information will help us replicate the issue.
OS version = W10 Enterprise (10.0.19045 Build 19045)
We use the free version, where can I sent the screen recording en link to?
Hi there,
Thank you so much! I followed up via DM. Could you check?
Toku
I have the same issue when embedding Figma prototype to Useberry for unmoderated usability testing. It is a major blocker, because our primary buttons are on the bottom of the UI, so users get super confused when trying to interact with our prototypes.
The only fix we could think of is urging users to sign up to Figma, otherwise the the cookie message pops up every time they move to another wireframe.
Please fix this as soon as possible.
I am experiencing this issue in US/California on MacOS Sonoma Version 14.6.1. I am able to reproduce the bug on both Firefox and Google Chrome, it happens consistently, every time I change focus away from the browser window containing the embedded prototype. I submitted a bug report.
This has been open for some time.
A simple solution:
It would be great if we could just add a &hideCookieBanner=true into the url… so it disables and surpresses the cookie banner. Its an active decision then and should be easy to be implemented from your dev teams side?
