How to make sure files are deleted from Figma server?

Hi everyone,

I permanently deleted some files in Figma trash, but I also want to make sure that these files are deleted from the Figma server.

I don’t know if permanently deleted files in trash means that these files are also deleted from the server? Or the files are still stored on the server?

I’ve attempted to contact Figma team by submit a support request as ticket(#2095775) through AI support chat. But it’s been a week, I haven’t received any reply email. Is there a better way to contact related team to solve my request?

Hi @Feng Zilong, Celyn from the Figma Community Support team here. Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you have an open support request with us and are still waiting to hear back from the team, and I apologize for the delay. I’ve located your existing ticket #2095775 and added an internal note to help increase its visibility.

To answer your question, permanently deleting a file removes it from Figma and prevents anyone from accessing it again. Figma may temporarily retain data after a file has been permanently deleted as part of our standard data deletion processes or where required by law. You can find more information in our Help Center article: Delete and restore files.

For any further questions about how your permanently deleted data is handled or retained, your existing support ticket will be the best place for the team to provide more specific guidance.

Someone from the team will follow up with you directly through your ticket, so please keep an eye on your inbox. Thanks for your patience in the meantime!

Thank you @Celyn_L  for your response.

I'm reaching out because, due to my mistake, these deleted files contain content that was not authorized by my company to be released on external platforms. This has violated our company's confidentiality policy.

Although I have permanently deleted the content myself, our information security team requires me to ensure it is also permanently removed from Figma's servers as quickly as possible, and to obtain official confirmation from the Figma team.

I understand that the Figma team may need time to address this matter, but the situation is urgent, and I kindly request expedited handling. Thank you!
