Is there any way in Figma where we can lock the design project for further updates. Currently the engineers starts consuming the Figma designs but there is a possibility that UX team updates the designs/colors etc which will impact engineering work.

Figma also do not have the change log to verify the past designs. So I am looking for a locking mechanism for save development.

Hey @Sumit Jain 👋 Thanks for reaching out! It sounds like you’re looking for a way to create a stable "source of truth" so your engineers aren't hitting a moving target. The root of the issue for you is that permissions in Figma are often inherited from the team level. We have a few ways to help you create that "lock" and provide the visibility you need 😊

A few paths forward:

Tools for tracking changes:

  • Version history: We’ve built version history into every file. Just click the file name in the toolbar and select Show version history. We autosave checkpoints every 30 minutes, but your team can also save a named version ⌘ Option S (Ctrl+Alt+S) to mark milestones like "Ready for dev — Sprint 14."

  • Changes in Dev Mode: This is the "change log" you’re looking for! It’s scoped to the frame level, so you can see exactly what changed and when. You can learn more in this help article - Compare Changes in Dev Mode

Hope this helps get you moving forward! — Jaycee
