Hi @Hankai, Thank you for reaching out about this. I understand that creating those components from scratch can be challenging. I tested on my end, but it seems that some manual work is required for this process.

If you have access to the file with those main components, you can try the following steps:

  1. Copy those main components and paste them into your file to see if they paste as new main components.
  2. Then, on the copied instance, swap instance to the copied local component.

If you don’t have access to the file with those main components, duplicating the instances, detaching the instances, creating a component from the detached instance, and following step 2 above might be an option.
For this option, you might need to select the instance without overrides.

I explored our community and found some plugins that might help you create main components:

  • Component Utilities: Create and copy components, and replace layers with components.
  • Master: Create, attach, clone and move components in a couple of clicks without losing overrides!

Feel free to explore these options on your own!

Additionally, Rest assured, if the main component has been deleted, the instance in your file remains.

I hope this information helps. Please let us know if I missed anything. If anyone in our community has insights or suggestions, please feel free to share!

Thanks!
