How to change my figma account email

Hey ​@Shehryar Sarwar , if your university email is blocked and your Figma account is linked to it through Google SSO, you can still keep all your files. To change the email on your account, you first need to remove Google SSO in order to request a password reset and set a unique password. This lets you log in directly with your email address + password instead of using Google. Once that’s set up, you can update your account email to your personal address. No files or projects will be lost.

Here’s how to proceed:

1. Log out of Figma.

2. Go to ‘figma.com/login’ and click ‘Reset password’.

3. Enter your university email and follow the on-screen instructions to request the password reset email.

4. Click the link in the password reset email. Figma will prompt you to create a new password.

5. The next time you log in, sign in using your university email + your new password (not Google SSO).

6. Once logged in, you can go to your Account Settings and update your email address to your personal one. You can follow the steps in this guide: Manage email address or password

After updating the email, your account stays exactly the same. All your files, teams, and projects remain intact. Hope this helps!
