Question

How should I design my file to make it easer for Devs to export images and assets?

My development team has an issue where they are unable to export a frame that has a image as a fill, more specifically when that frame has other elements, like text or icons on top of that image. How should I set up my frames so that the background image and the text that are overlayed on top are not exported together as one?

Hi @Adrian_Martell

Whenever you have a component you want to share with your developer and need to export it:

  1. Add an export settings by clicking the [+] button in the Export section.

  2. In the Fill section, you’ll notice a checkbox that is already checked

  3. Now, switch to Dev Mode on your frame. In the Assets section, hover over an item in the list. A download dropdown button will appear on the right. Clicking it will bring up a menu where you can choose to download either the entire frame (Layer export) or just the image used as the background (Source image file).
