Question

How do other Figma users tackle hyphenation?

Jomi.se

Hi! I’ve skimmed through the hyphenation-related threads on the forum, but since they contain very few comments, I’m kinda wondering how other professionals tackle the lack of proper hyphenation settings in Figma?

I’m aware of the Nisa App, and judging from the reviews it probably is worth it, but plugins by their nature have some downsides compared to native functions in figma.

Do y’all use plug-ins for this, do you do it manually, like adding hyphens where needed and keeping track of them not jumping around if there is some late-stage re-formatting happening; do youuse another application like Illustrator and then re-paste it your figma layout? Or are there solutions to this that I’m not aware of?

It really is beyond me on so many levels how hyphenation (which even exists in CSS since way back) has not yet been implemented into Figma proper ( I started looking into it like 3+ years ago), but I figure most must have found some workaround, so just curious how y’all go about it.
