This auto-layout frame is a child/inside a basic frame that I should be able to move things around in.  How the heck do I turn this off when I hover over to click and drag. all I want to do is drag the group/autolayout over a bit manually and arrows in this small space are producing too large of a move. this comes up for me a ton and it’s insanely annoying. I can’t click and drag without it also changing the auto layout spacing.  if I want to change that I will go to the tool sidebar and do it myself.  I don’t need this pink stuff trying to do it for me just because i’ve hovered over it.

Also, FYI - I couldn’t even screengrab it through the OS, because this literally happens on hover, so I snapped it with my phone - hence the bad photo, apologies.

Hi @Lee_Beth_Kilgore,

I understand how frustrating it is when the auto layout gap (the pink indicator) automatically appears as you hover, especially when all you want to do is slightly move the frame itself.

I looked into this, and it appears there isn't a direct option to turn off this spacing appearance other than by locking the layers.

I'll pass your feedback along to our team for future consideration. While we can't promise any immediate changes, we appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention.

In the meantime, it's not ideal, but I've noticed that if you hover over a spot where there's no spacing set (like directly on an object within the frame), the indicator doesn't appear. So, you might try clicking and dragging the object part, rather than the spacing area, as a workaround.

Thanks,

+1 to toggle the auto layout gap feature off, I fight with it constantly.

Yes, please remove this, its SOOOO frustrating!!!
