Hi everyone,

I have a design system library in a dedicated Figma file, while my product designs are spread across different files within the same project.

Currently, all of my primitive variables (colors, numbers, and strings) are stored in a single "Primitive" collection. I now need to add sizing modes to support responsive design, but these modes are only relevant for sizing variables—not for colors.

I'd like to move all color variables into a separate "Primitive Colors" collection. However, I'm concerned about breaking the existing connections to components, styles, semantic variables, and design files that consume the library.

Is there a way to move color variables to a new collection while preserving their existing references and links? If not, what is the recommended migration process?

I've searched the community forums but haven't found a clear answer.

Any help or best practices would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
