My objective is to enable customers to effortlessly select the desired T-shirt color from a comprehensive color wheel, subsequently applying the selected color to the t-shirt mockup.
You sure can, but not with the whole color spectrum, as you can’t freely pick color like that. I would limit the colors to the predefined ones that you have at the bottom of the color wheel, and make the color wheel and t-shirt part of the same component. Then make a variant for each color, but with different images of the t-shirt.
