How do I become an approved seller for paid plugins?

I’ve read Figma’s documentation, but I still don’t understand how a new developer becomes eligible to sell plugins through Figma Payments.

My publishing form only offers the Community Free Resource License, and I can’t find any application form—or even a way to ask Figma Support about seller approval.

Can I publish on behalf of a company, and may I handle subscriptions through my own payment system instead? In other words, does Figma want its 15% or not? 🙂

Hi @Vexy by Fontlab — welcome to Figma Forum, and thanks for your interest!

Here’s the short answer on eligibility: We're not approving new creators to sell paid files on Community at this time. That's why your publishing form only shows the free resource license and there's no seller application to submit. This article is the best place to watch, since we'll keep it updated as things evolve: About selling Community resources.

In the meantime, you can still publish your plugin to Community for free. Here's the full walkthrough, including how the review process works and where you'll be notified: Publish classic plugins to the Figma Community.

I also touched base with the Platform Support team — they've received your request (ticket ID: 2045275). They’ll be in touch with an update specific to your submission as soon as possible.

Thanks for your patience, and I hope that clears things up! Feel free to reply here if any questions remain on the above.

Well, this doesn’t clarify much. You say that you are “not approving new creators to sell paid files,” but I’m not going to sell files — I’m going to sell plugins. Is there any difference between the two?

If you are not interested in selling any new plugins, would it be OK to add some monetization options to a “free” plugin? Would there be any conflict between the “free” license and our actual license, which requires payment for certain plugin features — for example, to keep the plugin working for longer than seven days?

Sorry if these questions seem stupid, but I’m completely lost ))

Thank you for opening a support ticket for me. I really appreciate it!
