How do freelance designers handle incoming client requests?

How other designers deal with ongoing requests from clients once a project is underway.

I’ve found they tend to arrive through a mixture of email, WhatsApp, Slack etc, and keeping track of what’s actually outstanding can get messy pretty quickly.

Do you use a particular tool/process for this or just manage it through messages?
