It’s hard to be sure what is the background from your screenshot, but as a first step, I’d be sure you’re toggled from Slides mode into Design Mode. You can click the toggle in your toolbar or use the shortcut Shift +D. Your toolbar will be blue in Design mode.
From there, you should be able to find and remove any Fill applied to the Slide from the Design panel on the right by clicking the - to the right of the Slide color .
As an alternative suggestion, it almost looks as if you accidentally made Layout Grids visible. If this is the case, you can use the shortcut Shift + G to turn them off or go to View > Layout Grids to toggle on/off.
