I built an AI workflow + Figma plugin that generates your token architecture for you.

Answer a few questions necessary to provide context to AI tool of your choice → get a structured JSONs .Zip file → import it using plugin → full token system created in seconds.

What this does for you:

  • Entire Token hierarchy and aliasing

  • Proper variable organization

  • Web, iOS, and Android naming

  • Auto generated styles

Made for designers who want to skip setup and start designing.

Plugin: Figma Variables Tokens Importer

GitHub: GitHub Repo - Leave a ⭐

Demo community file: Figma Playground File with tokens already imported

You can also download the sample .zip file created using Claude(free version) here, and run the plugin - drag and drop, see the magic(do this in a new Figma file)

Message to Figma team - Figma connectors to Claude and other AI tools come with multiple skills, this could be a fantastic addition to it. This is completely open source and I stand to gain nothing from it, but I believe that this addition could greatly help a lot of designers out there spending months on setting up their variables on Figma - I would love to get feedback and work with the Figma team to get this published officially! Please let me know how I can do this

Hi @Shanmu_s4 - thank you for posting! First, I saw some of your other posts regarding your plugin, and appreciate your enthusiasm in sharing :D Just to make sure things stay clean, I’ve closed some of the other topics you made, so we can continue to communicate here. They are still visible so others can learn more from your posts.

When you mention you’d like this to get “published officially” can you clarify further? I’m a little unsure of what you’re referring to, since this is fully published on our community as of 4/17.

@ksn Sorry about the spam!
I didn’t receive a response, so I posted more.

By publishing officially, I mean that Figma could use the skill I developed into their own plugin system.

Screenshot from Claude Plugins

For example, the official Figma Plugin for Claude has these 9 skills above, I am asking if you can ask the team if they can add the skill I developed(of course with modifications and refining) into this official plugin.

The skill I have shared is completely open source and I stand to gain nothing from this.
It is just that I love design, and I love Figma, but the process of creating token system in Figma takes a lot of time, which I have simplified.

I do not even want credit for this - just if my contribution is recognized, and can be made official, it would be a huge achievement for me.

The skill I have developed is quite magical if you ask me, please have the team take a look :D

Thanks @Shanmu_s4

I took a moment to connect with our extensibility team and shared your idea with them. They gave it a thoughtful review, and while it’s not something we’re able to move forward with right now, we appreciate you bringing it to us.

It’s always great to see our community building and thinking creatively around Figma. Please keep it up, and don’t hesitate to keep sharing what you’re working on in the future.
