This is the expected behavior. If you want to directly select what is below your mouse cursor, press ctrl+click
Hey everyone!
As Jairo explained, the workaround can help you.
Though, it seems a bit odd as you said that you don’t have the same behaviour in Mac and Windows. As a first workaround, please also try to clear out your cache (here are the steps in the article) and force-quit to see if that helps.
If not, I’d recommend you to reach out directly to the support team with a quick video recording: here.
Our support team can investigate it further. Be sure to use the email associated with your Figma account, mention the steps you have done, and also share your device specs, a link to the file, and share the file with support-share@figma.com (with edit access), so they can take a closer look. Thank you!
cleared my cache, issue still persist…what Jairo suggested is not related to what i am experiencing, this started happening last friday, so it’s not like i’ve never used Figma on my mac before, prior to that i only have to doublr click…now that doesnt work

Thanks for the recoding video. Hmm not sure what the root cause may be on my end. I see on our back end that you have filled out a ticket. For your reference, your ticket number is: #963117 .
Thanks for your patience in the meantime, our support team will have a look at it 🙏
