Hey there design freelancers!

I was wondering how you are adjusting to the new limitations of the free plan? More specifically, I was wondering what strategies you have found to collaborate with your clients to allow them editing access, who pays for what and how ? It seems to me that the price can really add up if you are working with many clients who need editing access to the design files!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the matter.

Cheers

For me, I’ve started sharing view-only links for most projects and only giving edit access when it’s absolutely needed — like when a client’s designer needs to tweak something directly. If they want full collaboration, I usually ask them to invite me to their paid workspace instead of me covering all the costs.

It took a few awkward conversations at first, but now I just explain that Figma’s pricing changed and that sharing the cost helps keep things fair.
