My Figma desktop hasn’t worked i am on Windows 10 with pretty decent specs., it works fine on the browser but not on my desktop the background process is showing in the task manager but it won’t draw any power from the CPU. I tried clearing the cache memory, turning off the firewall, and fresh installing it but whenever I open the setup it buffers, and shows the Figma symbol, and that’s it! It won’t ask me for the location to install or if I want a desktop/start menu file. Then if I search for Figma it shows that the app is installed but still won’t open and the Figma agent is open in the background without drawing any power. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hey @Nguyễn An Phú, thanks for reaching out!

Thanks for already working through the cache clear, firewall, and fresh install.

Can you please also try the following:

  1. Force quit all Figma processes. Open Task Manager, find every process with "Figma" in the name including Figma Agent, and end them all.

  2. Manually delete the leftover Figma folders after uninstalling. Check both of these locations:

    • C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Figma
    • C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\Figma

(To see these, go to View > Show > Hidden items in File Explorer.)

  3. Restart before reinstalling. This clears anything still running in the background.

  4. Download a fresh installer from figma.com/downloads and run it as administrator (right click > "Run as administrator").

  5. Temporarily pause your antivirus or Windows Defender during the install. Even with the firewall off, real time protection can silently block the installer.
