Figma Slides. When presenting - videos autoplaying with arrow

Is your intention to have the videos shown on the slide during the presentation, but not actually play them at that time (so viewers can later go back on their own and play them after sharing the slides)? This is working as designed because the intention would be that a presenter can play videos with the keyboard as part of the flow of slides, e.g. switch to a slide with the arrow, then press the arrow to play a video (and another if there’s more than one), and then eventually press the arrow to go to the next slide. Hmm… Maybe what you could do is duplicate your Figma Slides file, and in the file you want to present replace those videos with a screenshot. In the file you share out will still be the full video.

An alternative would be to rearrange your slides so that you have one video with sound per slide, or at least in an order that makes sense for them to play when hitting the arrow key. I can understand not wanting to compromise your current slide flow, though.

In the meantime, I’ve also shared this with the team for review. Considering the other options available for videos in slides, an additional “play using arrow key” option could be another option provided. I’ll let you know if I hear anything!

Thanks so much for the quick response. To clarify what I'm hoping for: I'd like arrow keys to control slide navigation only, without interacting with embedded videos at all.
 

My presentations are meant to be viewed externally, on desktop, where viewers click to play videos themselves, at their own pace.
 

Right now, having arrow keys also trigger video playback creates a messy experience. If a slide has multiple videos, you can end up with several videos playing simultaneously with sound before you've even reached the next slide.
 

Figma is already a fantastic tool for interactive design and presentations, this feels like it would be a fairly simple fix. Adding an option to let arrow keys control only slide navigation, without triggering other interactive elements, would be a huge improvement for anyone building video heavy decks.
