Hey everyone, I need help with a frustrating issue in Figma!

I created a dropdown component using several smaller components (like checkmarks, multiple rows, icons, and different states). When I copy an instance of this component, I can customize it by changing icons, text, and other details.

Everything looks fine when I switch between the collapsed (closed) and expanded states inside Figma. However, when I test the prototype, I run into a problem:

• The dropdown starts in the correct state (collapsed or expanded).

• But when I click to switch to the other state, the component resets to its default, unedited version.

• This happens both ways—if I start with the collapsed state, the expanded state resets, and vice versa.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I’d really appreciate any help!
