figma motion timeline limit

does the limit of the timeline in motion only stops at 2000ms? if so then what’s the point of having an ability to zoom out all the way above 20000ms?

(edit) nevermind, apparently there’s a form right beside the current timeline position to choose the max duration for it, it's just for some reason written in grey, i thought it’s unclickable

    Yes, I ran into the same issue. It's pretty frustrating.

    Based on my investigation and the Figma documentation, this seems to be the expected behavior in Motion: instances of animated components don't inherit the timeline duration from the main component. Instead, each instance appears as a separate track in the timeline and starts with the default duration of 2000ms.

    This definitely needs to be fixed.

      I was frustrated by this, too! I had an animation in a component inside another component inside another component inside a regular frame. Had to go through all those layers and manually adjust animation time to make it work…
