Hi Figma Support Team,

I’m reaching out regarding an issue we are experiencing with a project created using Figma Make (AI).

Background

We are developing a two-sided platform called FiXa, and we designed the web interface using Figma Make. Our goal is to turn this design into a fully functional, production-ready website or MVP.

We are currently evaluating two possible development paths:

  1. Figma Make AI – publishing directly from Make

  2. External no-code AI platforms – such as Lovable (Builder.io), Webflow, or Framer, which can generate working sites from Figma designs

The Issue

Inside Figma Make, the following actions are unavailable:

  • We cannot duplicate the file (Duplicate to drafts / Duplicate file options are missing)

  • We cannot convert or copy the project into a regular Figma design file

  • Plugins are not available, so we cannot export the design to Webflow, Builder.io, Lovable, or any other tool

This currently prevents us from moving forward with creating a live website based on our design.

Subscription Information

At the moment, we are using the Free plan.

However, we want to emphasize that:
👉 We are absolutely willing to upgrade to a paid plan if that would enable file duplication, plugin access, or exporting to standard Figma.

Please let us know which subscription level would be required, if this limitation is related to the Free plan.

Our Questions

We would greatly appreciate your help with the following:

1. How can we convert or duplicate a Figma Make project into a normal Figma file?

We need a way to transfer the Make design into standard Figma so plugins and export tools become available.

2. Is the inability to duplicate or export related to our current (Free) plan?

If so, please advise which paid plan would unlock this functionality.

3. From your perspective, what is the recommended workflow for turning a Make-designed interface into a real, production-ready website?

  • Should we continue with Figma Make and its publishing workflow, or

  • Is it recommended to move the design into standard Figma and then use plugins/no-code tools (Builder.io/Lovable, Webflow, Framer) for development?

Our Goal

We simply want a clear path that allows us to:

➡️ make our current Make project transferable, editable, and exportable,
and
➡️ choose the correct approach for building a real, working application.

Thank you very much for your help and guidance!
We appreciate your time and support.

Best regards,
