Figma Education Plan Expires Soon, What Will Happen to My Portfolio on Figma Sites?

I am graduating from college in December and know that my Education plan will expire soon. I am especially concerned because I’m preparing to apply for graduate school and need to keep updating my portfolio, which is published on Figma Sites right now.

What will happen to my Figma Sites portfolio once my Education Plan expires? Will it become unpublished? Should I start transferring my portfolio to another website builder?

Ok, thanks for confirming! Yes, your site will remain published through and past the expirationsince it’s using a .figma.site domain, so you can keep using even after your Education plan expires.

Hey, ​@edlyn! Great question - thanks for posting. When your Education plan expires, your account is downgraded to the Starter plan. If you are using any features that come through an upgrade, those will be locked unless you upgrade to Professional.With Figma Sites in particular - it’s currently in open Beta and available for all plans. The only paid feature is publishing to your own domain name. Are you using that or using a *.figma.site domain? If you’re using a free subdomain then you should be able to maintain the site after downgrading. If you’re using a custom domain then you’ve got a couple options: upgrade to the Professional plan, or switch to a free subdomain.
