Hi @bhwryan, Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us about this issue. We’d love to get a bit more information to help you out.
Could you give us a bit more detail about the issue you’re facing? A quick screen recording demonstrating the issue would be really helpful!
We’re also curious to know:
- Does this happen in the app, in the browser, or both?
- Does this issue affect all collaborators or just a few person?
- Are there any error messages when this happens?
- Is this issue unique to this file, or does it occur in all existing files and new files created in Drafts?
If this issue persists, I’d recommend reaching out directly to our support team here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
To help our support team investigate, please provide:
- Your Figma account email address.
- A quick video recording showing the issue. It’s useful for us to see the whole window in the video.
- Answers to the above questions.
- The link to the file, and please add support-share@figma.com as an Editor to those files (don’t worry, this won’t affect your billing).
Thanks so much for your help with this! If I’ve overlooked anything, please let us know.
And we always love hearing insights and suggestions from our community, so don’t be shy - jump right in!
Thanks,
We have the same issue at our company. When I create components, they look fine but when other people with the same Figma license and version open the file, sometimes the components look broken. Even when they view it in the presentation mode.
When the other person then just simply clicks in one instance of the component, that one instance looks fine again. But this doesn’t fix it for other users or other instances of the component.
Would be great if there is a solution for this problem.
Hi there, We’ve seen a similar issue resolved by following steps. If you’re still experiencing the problem, could you please try them out and see if everything looks correct afterward?
Repair component connections
- Select a problem instance in a page
- The top left Figma icon > Quick Actions > Repair component connections
If the above does not not work, please try Regenerate all instances (slow)
- Select a problem instance in a page
- The top left Figma icon > Quick Actions > Regenerate all instances (slow)
If none of the above steps work, I recommend reaching out to support as mentioned in the second post.
Thanks for your assistance!
@Junko3 Thanks for your response, the second solution worked. 🙂
Thank you @Junko3 ! The first one worked for me just now. Multiple icons were displaying as all the same icon when the component was brought in from a library to one certain file, but after “Repair component connections”, they appeared as they should. Much appreciation!
… Eeeeexcept it only worked with that one fixed instance. If another one is brought over, it retains the initial problem. But only in this file; if the same component is brought into another file, it appears correctly.
