Does anyone know if its possible to disable the ability to purchase additional AI credits at the organization level?

I understand you can disable a users ability to use pay-as-you-go credits (this has been disabled for all our sues), I am needing to stop the ability of an admin purchasing additional credits  in the first place to satisfy a control.

Use case being admins in Figma are SME’s but not the internal contract managers, we do not want a scenario where the CM is liable to cover costs for credits which were ordered outside internal approvals, triggered by the SME admins.

Hopefully that makes sense? I just want to turn off purchasing credits - our people can use the monthly allocation and that’s it til the month rolls over.

Hi @Ayla Wilson , thanks for reaching out, Celine from the Community Support team at Figma here!

At the moment, there isn't a way to prevent Organization Admins from purchasing additional AI credits.

If your goal is for users to consume only their included monthly AI credit allocation, you can continue to keep paid AI credit (pay-as-you-go) access disabled for users. Once they've used their monthly allocation, they'll need to wait until the next monthly reset unless an Organization Admin purchases additional credits.

As a possible workaround, if these users don't need Organization-level permissions, you could make them Workspace Admins instead of Organization Admins. Workspace Admins can manage teams, people, and resources within their assigned workspaces, but they can't manage organization-wide settings, including AI credit purchasing. Do keep in mind that Workspace Admins also can't upgrade users, so whether this is suitable depends on your organization's needs.

For the purchasing control specifically, the current recommendation would be to ensure that your Organization Admins are aware of your internal approval process, as there isn't currently a setting to block admins from purchasing additional AI credits.

You can find more information here:

If you need help reviewing your current Organization setup or determining the best permission model for your use case, feel free to reach out to our Support team. They'll be happy to take a closer look at your account configuration.

Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback. I can definitely see how an organization-level control like this would be valuable for governance workflows such as yours!
